Welcome to ManagementWisdom.com
As collaborators with the late W. Edwards Deming and Dr. Russell L. Ackoff, we are pleased to keep the video rendering of their revolutionary contributions to management philosophy available to people around the world. This material is timeless.
It is the foundation for the steadily developing new worldview of:
• Systems thinking
• Management for continual improvement of processes and systems
• Commitment to development of people, which enables organizations, teams, and individuals to become greater than the sum of their parts and improve the quality of life for more and more people.
The Deming Library and Dr. Ackoff’s
Better Management for a Changing World series are available on DVD. We continue trying to make the material more accessible for individual study and group instruction.
Who We Are
We are a team of journalists, producers, writers, and students of management whose attention was captured years ago by the profound implications of the ideas of W. Edwards Deming and other pioneers in systems thinking and its application to management. We see this revolutionary way of thinking as the foundation of a new approach to leading and managing organizations of all kinds—corporations, schools, hospitals, service agencies, nations, even families. Its appeal lies in the recognition that cooperation yields better results than competition. Its economic utility consists of developing people to be most effective and to enjoy their work; this is the surest means to sustainable success.
We continue seeking better ways to report on and to teach others about the utility of systems thinking. Our current documentary (Good News: How Hospitals Heal Themselves) and book (The Nun and the Bureaucrat…How They Found an Unlikely Cure for America’s Sick Hospitals) report on systems thinking applied in hospitals that employ the Toyota Production System and Dr. Deming’s continual improvement principles to organize clinical work.
